TL;DR: Muslim Organizations of Northern CA are Endorsing Jill Stein!

Assalam-u-Alaikum.
This is an election cycle like no other, where an active genocide is being live-streamed yet neither of the two parties have taken a stand against it. We are blessed with a third option though: a candidate that is herself Jewish that stands firmly against the genocide and is seeking our vote, Jill Stein.
We, as a group of Northern California Muslim civic engagement organizations, have decided to endorse Jill Stein and encourage all of our communities and allies to go all-in in supporting her campaign.
We have 2 goals behind this endorsement:
- Have Gaza be the issue that creates an unprecedented change in modern American politics: If Jill were to get 5% of the national popular vote, then we would have a third party get federal funding in the next election! If she attains 2-5% of the statewide popular vote, she would be eligible for state funding as well. That would send a clear message that any future platform must include holding Israel accountable.
- Have Gaza be the issue that swings the outcome of this election: Hillary Clinton laid blame for her loss in 2016 to Jill Stein as Stein had enough votes to swing three states. Whilst our focus is on CA, we encourage organizations around the country to pursue this as well particularly in the swing states.
For the first time, our Presidential vote in CA will matter, as Kamala will win CA irrespective of how we vote, making every vote for Jill get counted as a protest vote against the genocide. Beyond the presidential race, there are local city and state elections that are decided sometimes by less than 100 votes. There are pro-Palestinian candidates running at all levels across the state where our community can have an outsized impact. Let people know in your social and even professional networks to Vote For Peace, Vote For Jill.

- You do not have to switch to Green Party to vote for Jill
- We’d encourage you all to stay in the party you are in so that the votes get counted as a protest vote against your respective party, though its better to register as any party than as No Party / Independent, as it opens up more opportunities for impact and influence (such as voting in per-party committee elections).
We understand and respect those in our community that disagree with our recommendations. We encourage you to vote your conscience and vote for who you think is best for our community. But DO VOTE, as we need to increase the “# of Voting Muslims”, irrespective of how we vote. This substantially helps those amongst us that do any kind of advocacy work.
May Allah SWT guide us, and may He empower us to do our part in helping bring justice to Palestine, Lebanon and the world.
